Whether you are planning a special event or simply want to spice up your everyday look, learning to apply dramatic makeup can ensure that you are turning heads. There is no better addition to your dramatic look than a bit of body shimmer. A few tips can teach you how to add a little extra flare.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Body shimmer powder
  • Large blush brush
  • Round shadow brush (optional)
  1. Step 1

Apply body shimmer after you have completed the base for your dramatic makeup, but before adding blush, eye shadows, liners and mascara. You should have already applied foundation primer and powder to a clean face and added any bronzers or highlights that you want to use.

  2. Step 2

Add a small amount of body shimmer powder to the lid of the makeup container. A little shimmer goes a long way, so add only a small amount at a time, adding more only if necessary. Dab a large blush brush into the powder and then tap off the excess on the edge of the lid.

  3. Step 3

Use light brush strokes to apply the shimmer makeup to any part of your skin that will be showing. Be careful not to dust your clothing, since it can be hard to remove. Shimmer can be used on your chest, neck and face and even your arms and legs to give your skin a healthy, ethereal glow.

  4. Step 4

Highlight your brow bone with a dusting of body shimmer makeup as well, to add an extra touch to your dramatic look. When applying shimmer to your eyes, use a smaller, round shadow brush. Once you have added body shimmer to all exposed skin, you are ready to begin application of your eye makeup.
