Step 1
Have a good foundation for color. When applying your mineral base foundation, skim over your eyelids as well. This helps even out the skin tone around your eyes and hides any imperfections that could ruin your look. Once the base is in place, you can move on to adding a little color into the mix.

Step 2
Go wet or dry. You have a few different options when applying mineral makeup eye shadow base. For a natural look, you can choose to use the color dry right from the container. Or, for a little more staying power, you can wet your brush slightly before dipping it into the eye shadow color.

Step 3
Use a little bit at a time. Mineral makeup goes a long way, so you need only a tiny dab of it for both eyes.

Step 4
Choose the right color. When picking an eye shadow base color, start off light and neutral. Think pinks and tans for fair skin or darker browns for olive or dark complexions. You just want to give a little shimmer and color to the eyelid without overpowering the look.
