Things You'll Need:
- Pencil brush
- Dark eye shadow
- Small angled brush
-
Step 1
Keep your eyeliner smoky and soft for your evening look by using powder under the eye instead of an eyeliner pencil. Use a pencil brush and the darkest color of eye shadow you have used on your lids. Begin at the outer corner of the lower lid, working just below the lashes, and create a smoky line about two-thirds of the way to the corner of the eye.
-
Step 2
Brighten your eye and help to reduce the look of dark circles or tired eyes by adding a touch of highlighting to the inner eye. Use a shimmery, light-colored eye shadow, and begin application at the inner corner of the eye, again working just below the lash line and then blending with your dark powder eyeliner. If desired, you can add a light brushing of your highlighting color to the brow bone to add some pop to your eyes.
-
Step 3
Use your dark shade of shadow to line your upper eye as well; however, for the upper eyeliner, you want a more defined line. Dampen your small angled brush slightly and then apply the brush to your powder, which will help to apply the liner smoothly and evenly. Apply a bit to your hand before beginning to get a feel for the technique.

Step 4
Create a cat's eye look by using the tip of your angle brush to make an upward angle at the outside corner of the eye, and then draw the brush down to the lashes. Work your way toward the corner of the eye, drawing the line thinner as you go. Use the same technique on the opposite eye to complete your eyeliner for your evening look.
