When planning an evening out, doing your makeup correctly can help you feel your best. It is important to remember that in evening settings, you will be surrounded by artificial lighting, which can often make your skin look pale and lifeless. Using a subtle bronzer can help prevent dullness, brightening your skin and your evening look.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Large blush brush
  • Bronzing powder
  1. Step 1

Apply bronzer to your skin once you have completed your makeup base but before you have applied blush and eye makeup. You should already have thoroughly washed and moisturized your skin and applied foundation primer and powder. If you use finishing powders, eye brighteners or other highlighting products, apply them first as well.

  2. Step 2

Use a large blush brush to apply bronzer, adding a very small amount at a time, since it is easier to add more than to take away. Remember that you are trying to liven up your skin and give it a healthy glow, not make your skin look tan. Bronzer is meant to highlight your naturally beautiful skin, not create artificial skin tone.

  3. Step 3

Dip your brush into your bronzer and then tap off any excess powder. Apply the bronzer with a dabbing motion anywhere that the sun would naturally hit during a sunny day. Areas to bronze include the bridge of the nose, cheekbones, forehead and chin.

  4. Step 4

Dust your neck and chest with bronzer as well if you are wearing a low-cut dress or blouse on your evening out. Once you have completed your bronzer, you are ready to add blush and eye shadow to complete your evening look.
