Evening makeup application is completely different from your daytime pallet, not only because of a change in mood and atmosphere but also because you will be surrounded by artificial lighting. Artificial lighting can turn even the most beautiful skin dull and lifeless, but with the right application of beauty products, particularly blush, you can keep your youthful glow.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Iridescent blush
  • Large blush brush
  1. Step 1

Apply blush only once you have completed your makeup base and added any highlights. You should have already applied foundation primer and powder to a clean face as well as finishing powder, highlighting powder and undereye cream if desired. Make sure that you have applied your bronzer as well, an important ingredient in your evening look.

  2. Step 2

Choose a blush with iridescent ingredients, which will help to reflect the light and give your skin life during your evening out. Iridescent products are available in a number of colors and often include words such as "illuminescence" or "brilliance" in the name. Remember that iridescent products are not the same as products with glitter. You will not be able to see a difference in the powder with your eye until it has been applied to your skin.

  3. Step 3

Use a color of blush that complements your skin tones. A natural pink is perfect for pale skin tones, while mauves or even browns tend to look better on olive skin tones. Dip a large blush brush into your hard powder blush and apply with a dabbing motion directly to the apples of the cheeks.

  4. Step 4

Find the apples of the cheeks by smiling slightly as you apply the powder, and then continue dabbing all along the line of the cheekbones. Iridescent blush goes on very lightly, so feel free to add more if necessary to complement your evening look.
