Metallic makeup is becoming popular, not just for big nights on the town, holiday parties or special occasion but also as a way to add shimmer and shine to your everyday look. Platinum powder is the perfect addition to your metallic makeup palette, since it adds a sort of glow to your face. A few tips can get you started.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Full brush
  1. Step 1

Finish your makeup base before applying platinum powder. That is, you should have applied foundation primer and foundation powder to a clean face, finished your blush and set everything with a dusting of finishing powder.

  2. Step 2

Apply platinum powder sparingly, since a little goes a long way. While it may seem that the powder is translucent, it contains small platinum specks that reflect light. A small amount will add a beautiful glow to your metallic makeup look; however, too much will take away from your natural beauty.

  3. Step 3

Dip a full brush into your platinum powder, and then tap off any excess on the edge of the powder container. Lightly brush the powder on any area where light naturally falls, such as the bridge of the nose, forehead, cheeks and chin. Make sure that you use long, sweeping motions and blend the powder completely into your skin.

  4. Step 4

Keep your full brush and platinum powder with you as you head out for the evening, since you may want to reapply occasionally. Once you have completed your shimmering look, you are ready to begin application of metallic makeup to your eyes.
