If you are seeking a glamorous look, metallic makeup is the way to go, adding sparkle and sophistication to your everyday style. Because metallic makeup is a bit different from traditional makeup, it is important to choose the right combination for your lips so as not to overdo your look. A few tips can give you a basic idea of how lip liner and filler works for this style.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Lip liner pencil (neutral color)
  • Clear lip gloss with bronze or gold flakes
  • Lip brush
  1. Step 1

Apply your lip liner and filler only after you have fully completed your metallic makeup look. That is, you should have already applied foundation, finishing powder, highlights, eye shadow and liner, brow filler, undereye brighter, blushes and any other touches you like. Lips are the last step to complete your glamorous look.

  2. Step 2

Choose a neutral lip liner that is not overpowering, since attention should be drawn to the metallic makeup around your eyes. Lip liner, instead, should be very close to your natural color and act more as a primer for your gloss filler than as a coloring agent.

  3. Step 3

Line your lips with a neutral-colored liner pencil, and then fill in your lips evenly. Again, filling your lips with the liner will help your gloss filler maintain its shine for longer.

  4. Step 4

Select a clear lip gloss with just a touch of metal flakes. Because silver or platinum flakes tend to draw too much attention to your lips, select bronze or gold instead, which is far more subtle. Apply an even layer of gloss using a lip brush, completing your stunning, sparkling look.
