Things You'll Need:
- Bulleted shadow brush
- Gold-colored metallic eye shadow
-
Step 1
Apply eye shadow only after you have completed your makeup base, adding foundation primer and powder to a clean face, applying color to your cheeks with blush and sealing with a finishing powder. Additionally, you should add highlighting powders and eye shadow primer before beginning work on the eyes. Gold is best used as the second color of your metallic shadow, platinum being applied first.
-
Step 2
Dip your bulleted eye shadow brush into your gold shadow, tapping off any extra powder on the side of the container. Remember that a little eye shadow goes a long way, particularly after using primer. Apply shadow sparingly, adding more only as necessary.
-
Step 3
Use a dabbing motion to blend your gold color into the platinum you have already applied to the lid. Dip your brush again, and dab the powder into the crease of the eye, working from the nose to outer lid. Then use soft, upward-sweeping motions to work the shadow up toward the brow bone.
-
Step 4
Stop short of your light platinum shadow highlight and then blend well throughout the lid. Once your gold shadow has been evenly applied to both eyes, you are ready to begin work with eyeliner.
