Things You'll Need:
- Powder foundation
- Foundation brush
-
Step 1
Use your foundation only after you have washed your face thoroughly, cleaned your skin with a gentle toner and applied a foundation primer. These steps will ensure that your final shimmering look using metallic makeup leaves your skin looking healthy and beautiful.
-
Step 2
Choose your powder foundation carefully, since the wrong color for your skin tone can create a makeup disaster. Foundation should match your skin exactly and not be used to lighten or darken your natural tone. Foundation is meant to erase small imperfections while looking translucent. When you have applied your foundation, there should be no way of knowing where your makeup ends or begins.
-
Step 3
Swipe your foundation brush across your powder and then dab the powder onto areas that need a little extra attention, such as blemishes, scars and other imperfections. You can then apply the powder evenly to the entire face using dabbing motions and small sweeps. The foundation should blend easily if the color is correct and you have used primer.
-
Step 4
Make sure that your foundation covers your eyelids, eyebrows, hairline, neck and chin. Once you have evenly applied your foundation, you are ready to begin application of your metallic makeup.
