2. Place a small dab of your eye shadow primer on the back of your hand. Eye shadow primer is generally translucent and comes in a small tube with a soft stick, similar to lip gloss. You need only a very small amount of primer to get the job done.

3. Dip a finger into the primer and apply it smoothly and evenly to your entire eyelid. Eye shadow primer will not only help your shadow last longer but also help to prevent the shadow from gathering in the creases of your eyelids during the day.
