Comic Life offers would-be artists a great tool for creating comics without any drawing skills. The software automatically sets up the pages, and panels can be created from photographs or doodles. Beginning artists can learn the interface and start their comic in minutes.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Start the Comic Life application. You will see one window with a comic page, libraries and balloons.

  2. Step 2

Explore the toolbar. Zoom in or out with the magnifying glasses, or fit your comic in the application window. Select the background from the style pull-down menu. The text features at the far right control size, color and font.

  3. Step 3

Choose a page template from the template libraries menu and drag it onto the page. You can also drag individual panels onto the page. Click on the Details menu to change a selected panel's properties.

  4. Step 4

Find your image elements in the library under the page templates. Drag the image directly onto a panel to load it. Choose images from your iPhoto albums or picture folders, or capture pictures with the built-in camera by clicking on the source buttons underneath the library.

  5. Step 5

Drag text balloons from the element well onto panels. Type directly into the balloons. You can also choose narration panels and display lettering panels.

  6. Step 6

Switch between pages by clicking on the icons in the page organizer to the left. The organizer previews each page's layout on its icon. Add and delete pages by clicking on the plus and minus buttons at the bottom.
