Poser computer graphics software allows you to quickly position characters, create scenes and make 3-D renders. Use the Material Room (Poser 5+) to increase or to add special effects to your characters and increase a scene's realism.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Open Poser and G2 Simon loads. Select the "Material" tab for the Material Room to load, then click "Simple" to enter the Basic Mode.

  2. Step 2

Select Simon's shirt. There are six Basic Mode options: Diffuse Color, Highlight, Ambient, Reflection, Bump and Transparency. The T-shirt's texture map loads in the "Diffuse Color" section.

  3. Step 3

Choose "Diffuse Color" and click on the texture map. Select "None" from the menu and click "OK." Simon's T-shirt will lose its texture and become white.

  4. Step 4

Press Ctrl and left-click the white rectangle in "Diffuse Colors," and the Basic Color dialog box will open. Choose any color and select "OK." Simon's T-shirt will change color. Repeat and return to make the T-shirt white.

  5. Step 5

Select the square in the "Diffuse Colors" section. This box will show the T-shirt's texture map. Choose "Browse" to find a new map. Poser's Material Room can use any TIF, PSD, JPG or PNG image as a map. Click "OK" to map an image to the T-shirt.

  6. Step 6

Choose the "Pose" tab and return to main screen. Press Ctrl+R to render the scene.

Tips & Warnings
  • This information is for Poser's factory default setting. If you have changed this setting in Poser, select "Edit," "General Preferences" and "Document." Then click on button that says "Launch to Factory State." Select "OK" to close window, then select "File" and "New" to restart Poser.
  • Poser's Material Room for Mac can also import PICT format. Windows Poser users can also import BMP format.
