How to Render Settings With Poser Software

Rate: (0 Ratings)

With Poser software, artists become virtual producers, selecting and designing figures, props and scenes. Poser has four different render settings: Firefly, Poser 4, Sketch and Preview. Artists use the Poser 4 and Preview settings while creating their scenes. Firefly and Sketch settings are best for final renders.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Poser 4 and Preview Render Settings

  1. Step 1

Select "Preview Rendering" to check an image while designing a scene. Press Ctrl+Y to bring up Poser's four rendering options. Choose "Preview."

  2. Step 2

Choose the Poser 4 setting for advanced image previews. Special effects like reflections and glows look better than in the Preview setting. The Poser 4 render setting is faster than either Sketch or Firefly renders.

  3. Step 3

Click on the right arrow icon in the upper-right corner of the Poser 4 render. Select "Export Image" to save your render. Poser 4 renders are not as detailed as Sketch or Firefly images.

  4. Sketch and Firefly Render Settings

  5. Step 1

Review the scene and check for small errors like body parts pointing through clothing. Press Ctrl+Y to bring up render settings.

  6. Step 2

Choose the "Sketch" tab. There are 10 preset sketch settings. Sketch rendering works best for closeups. Select "Sketch Designer" for advanced sketch options. Click and center sketch preview, then manipulate the dials to create a custom sketch. Select "OK." when finished. Choose "Render Now (Sketch)" to see the final render.

  7. Step 3

Select the "Firefly" tab, the most advanced Poser render engine. Click "Auto" and drag the indicator to the column left of the final setting. This setting balances all Firefly categories for general photo-realistic renders. Render and save the image. Return to the "Firefly" tab and select "Manual." Experiment with the settings, then click "OK" and "Render Now."

Tips & Warnings
  • The Sketch render setting is best for cartoons and illustrations.
