Poser is 3-D character creation and animation graphics software. Artists with a basic knowledge of filmmaking techniques create better scenes and movies. Detailed character design requires changing camera views and using multiple cameras. With Poser, you are a virtual director.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Select the first actor for the scene. The View port selector is in the lower-left corner of the View Preview window. Select it, and choose "Three Ports--Big Top." You will then see the actor's face and hands displayed in the Preview window.

  2. Step 2

Modify the actor's hair and clothing. Examine each change through the multiple view ports. Left-click on a view port before performing a preview rendering. Review the image and correct the model's positioning. To the left of the window is a compass icon of four pointing hands. Left-click and move the mouse north, south, east or west. The viewpoint camera changes with your mouse movements.

  3. Step 3

Left-click the compass globe below the four hands. As you move the mouse, the viewpoint camera rotates. Combining hand and compass icons movements, position the actor. Render the image and update the actor.

  4. Step 4

Choose the Head icon in the upper-left side of the screen. It is above the four-hand compass icon. Left-clicking and dragging the icon changes the camera view ports. Another way to change camera view ports is by clicking "Select Camera" in the upper-right corner of the screen. A menu appears listing all Poser cameras. Choose the new camera angle, and the view port will update.

  5. Step 5

Adjust the actor using the camera view ports. Add morph targets to create a specific Poser character. Perform the final render and start with the next character.
