So you've learned many of the cumbia dance steps and you can do them pretty well. Now it's time to start putting everything together. This will show you how to get started.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin putting all the cumbia dance steps together by doing the basic step when you step back and a little to the side with your right foot, step in place with your left foot, then step back with your left foot, step in place with your right foot and step forward with your left foot.

  2. Step 2

Add a kick as you put cumbia steps together. Before you step back with your right foot, kick toward the floor, then step back. Do the same just before you step back with your left foot as you step in the other direction.

  3. Step 3

Do the slide step next, by stepping right with your right foot, sliding your left foot over to meet it, then stepping to the right again and nearly meeting your right foot with your left. Step to the left, slide your right foot to meet it, step again to the left and slide almost over with your right before stepping to the right again.

  4. Step 4

Move to the left and right doing the triple slide, sliding the feet three times to the right then three times to the left.

  5. Step 5

Go next with the crossovers but stepping to the right with your right foot, crossing your left foot in front, and stepping to the right again with your right. Almost touch your left foot to your right, step to the left, cross your right foot over, then step to the left again with your right.

  6. Step 6

Kick next with your crossovers, substituting the meeting of the feet at the end of the crossover by kicking before stepping left or right.

  7. Step 7

Turn by stepping forward and back as you put the cumbia dance steps together, and dazzle your fans.
