How to Do Cumbia Dance Step Kicks

When you get tired of doing the basic cumbia steps, you'll want to add a little more something. A good dance move is the cumbia dance step kicks. They aren't too difficult to learn, yet they're cool. Read this and get kicking.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Step right as you are preparing to do a cumbia step kick, cross over with your left foot, step to the side with your right foot, then kick "down to the floor" with your left foot.

  2. Step 2

    Move back to the left with your left foot, cross over with your right foot and step again to the side with your left foot.

  3. Step 3

    Kick down to the floor as you do a cumbia step kick with your right foot, then step to the right with your right foot, cross over with your left foot, and step to the side with your right foot.

  4. Step 4

    Repeat a cumbia step kick with your left foot, then step with your left foot, cross over with your right foot, and step to the side with your left foot.

  5. Step 5

    Do the cumbia step kicks to add a little spice to your run-of-the-mill cumbia steps. However, you must remember to stay with the music as you do these steps, keeping time to the sultry syncopated beat that characterizes cumbia.
