The inside turn in salsa dancing is a fun turn to do with your partner. You get to spin under your upraised hands until he catches you, and brings you back into the ballroom position again. Here's how to begin spinning yourself.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Begin an inside turn in salsa dancing in the ballroom position with your left hand on the man's right shoulder, and your right hand on in his left. His right hand will rest on your back below your shoulder blade.

  2. Step 2

Step back with your right foot as the man steps forward with his left foot. Step in place with left foot as the man begins to turn his torso to the left as he sets his left foot beside his right then places it about a shoulder's width apart and ends by facing the middle of the floor.

  3. Step 3

Go forward with your right foot as the man lifts his left hand and directs you with his right to spin beneath it as you do an inside turn. As you are turning, the man will turn by bring up his right foot so his right side is toward the middle of the dance floor.

  4. Step 4

Continue turning to the left as the man steps forward with his left foot and stops your turn by taking you in the ballroom hold.

  5. Step 5

Return to the basic salsa steps after you do an inside turn in salsa dancing. You will step forward with your right foot as the man steps back with his left.
