  1. Step 1

Sign into your Google Reader home page by typing in your email and password in the designated boxes and clicking on "Sign In."

  2. Step 2

Click on the "Settings" tab in the upper right hand corner of your Google Reader screen. From here, you can then choose "Goodies" in the navigation bar under the settings section in the top left hand side of the screen.

  3. Step 3

Select the "Add Google" icon to add Google Reader to your Google Personalized Homepage. This will add a section to your personalized page that displays all of your feeds.

  4. Step 4

Drag the "Next" icon to the bookmark bar, allowing you to use Google Reader through one link. To create a bookmark for a particular tab, you would just choose the tag from the drop down menu in the "Select a Tag" box and drag that link into the bookmark bar.

  5. Step 5

Repeat the dragging procedure to drag the "Subscribe" icon into the bookmark bar. This is helpful if you find yourself continuously going back to a website to check for updates. By having this in your bookmark bar, you can click on it to subscribe to view it in Google Reader and have all updates available to you in once place.
