Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Locate the "Discover" tab on your Google Reader home page and click on it. It is located in the panel on the left hand side of the computer screen.

  2. Step 2

Notice that you can add subscription by topic. You can subscribe in bundles, which will give you numerous feeds on the similar topics.

  3. Step 3

Click on "More Bundles" to view more Google Reader topics. This will open up a lot more options that you can subscribe to in pre-packaged bundles.

  4. Step 4

Choose subscribe when you find a bundle that you wish to subscribe to. A folder with the name of the bundle will be added on the left hand side of the computer screen.

  5. Step 5

Type in the user name of an individual under the section titled "Stay close to family and friends" if you want to find a blog that someone you know maintains. Google Reader supports many different blog hosts for this option. If you wish to subscribe to their blog, click on the "Subscribe" tab. You can also search for feeds by particular keywords by typing in the keyword under the "Search and Browse" section. This will allow you to find topics based on your specific interests.

  6. Step 6

Find the "Recommendations" tab and click on it. Here is where Google Reader will start recommending feeds to you based on what it tracks as your interests. It may take some time for your interests to be registered.

  7. Step 7

Decide whether you prefer to keep particular feeds that you have subscribed to. If you wish to remove them, click on "Manage Subscriptions" to trash them. This is located on the bottom left hand side of your computer screen.
