Step 1
Take into account the flowers you choose. Flowers with long stems need a vase that's long and lean. Arrangements with lots of blossoms need a vase with a wide opening. You'll also have to take the colors of the flowers into consideration if you choose a vase that's colored.
-
Step 2
Look at glass vases first. Glass vases give tropical flower arrangements a clear and fresh appearance. However if you do use glass vases, you'll have to cover the oasis with tea leaves or horsetails. An oasis is a sponge and keeps the flowers in place in the arrangement.
-
Step 3
Think about the shape you want. Most vases are in a cylinder shape, a square or a short fat, cylinder shape. You'll have to look at the size of your arrangement and the length of the stems to help you decide.
-
Step 4
Consider other kinds of vases. There are ceramic and wooden vases you can use. Wooden vases are great from tropical arrangements since they continue the tropical motif.

Step 5
Choose metal vases. Metal vases are a great option, but you will have to line metal vases to prevent them from rusting.
