If you want to make a handcrafted Valentine's Day gift for all the special folks on your list, make them a fun and funky Valentine's Day refrigerator magnet. This is a craft that is easy enough for little fingers, with just a bit of adult assistance.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Self-adhesive foam hearts, large and small
  • Scissors
  • Pipe cleaners
  • Hot glue gun or white craft glue
  • Industrial strength magnets
  • Googly eyes
  1. Step 1

Make a face on a large foam heart. Glue on googly eyes, and add a smaller heart for a nose.

  2. Step 2

Cut a pipe cleaner in half, and fold each half. Glue one pipe cleaner on the back of the foam heart to make arms, and glue the other half on the back to make legs.

  3. Step 3

Glue the industrial strength magnet to the back of the foam heart.

  4. Step 4

Add small foam heart hands on the ends of the arms. Glue some heart feet on the end of the legs.

  5. Step 5

Allow the glue to dry before using the Valentine's Day magnet.

Tips & Warnings
  • Use a bit of fabric paint to add a smile to your Valentine's Day person, if desired.
  • Valentine's Day magnets make a fun locker decoration for the "tweens" on your Valentine's Day gift list.
  • Personalize the Valentine's Day magnet even more by gluing a small photo to the front of the magnet.
  • If you use a hot glue gun to create the Valentine's Day magnet, be sure it's safely out of the reach of children.
