Set a new trend this Valentine's Day and instead of giving cards or sugary treats to your friends or co-workers, have some fun and make everybody a personalized Valentine's Day bookmark. This is an inexpensive and creative gift that can be enjoyed long after Valentine's Day has ended.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  1. Step 1

Decorate the Popsicle sticks or tongue depressors any way you like. Draw designs with colored markers or crayons, write names or Valentine's Day greetings, add some glitter or cover the sticks with construction paper.

  2. Step 2

Create a whimsical foam heart for each bookmark. Create a 3-D appearance by gluing on some smaller foam hearts, or some some small construction paper hearts. You can also make a funny face with googly eyes and construction paper or foam for noses.

  3. Step 3

Glue a foam heart securely to the end of each popsicle stick or tongue depressor with the hot glue gun.

  4. Step 4

Tie a colorful ribbon around the Valentine's Day bookmark, if desired.

  5. Step 5

Present the Valentine's Day bookmark to the lucky recipients.

Tips & Warnings
  • White craft glue can be used in place of a hot glue gun, but will require additional drying time.
  • Making Valentine's Day bookmarks is a fun project for kids, but be sure to provide adult assistance, and make sure that children don't use the hot glue gun.
