How to Decorate Gift Bags for Valentine's Day

When you've chosen a Valentine's Day gift for that special someone, make it even more special by presenting it in a Valentine's Day gift bag that you've made yourself. These creative bags can be as elaborate as you like, or simple and elegant. They're a fun project for kids, too.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

• Plain gift bags (red, pink or white)
• Tissue paper
• Foam adhesive hearts
• Ribbon in coordinating colors
• Paper heart doilies
• Double sided tape
• White craft glue
• Embellishments such as buttons (googly eyes, feathers)
• Glitter or glitter pens
• Fine point permanent markers
• Small piece of construction paper or poster board in Valentine's Day Colors
• Hole punch

1. Choose a gift bag of the appropriate size.

2. Glue on some paper heart doilies in any arrangement that you like.

3. Add a few self-adhesive foam hearts. These can be superimposed on top of the paper heart doilies for a 3-D effect.

4. Finish decorating the Valentine's Day gift bag with some glitter, buttons, googlie eyes, or any other embellishment that strikes your fancy.

5. Place some colorful tissue paper inside the bag to hide the gift.

6. Cut a small rectangular shape from the construction paper or poster board, and fold it in half. Write a personalized Valentine's Day greeting on the card, and tie it to the handle with colorful ribbon.

Tips & Warnings

• Personalize the Valentine's Day gift bag even more by attaching a few photographs to the bag. Cut them in a heart shape and glue them in place over a paper heart doily.
