How to Keep Christmas Lights Untangled

Organizing, packing and safely storing Christmas lights after the season is easy, inexpensive and it will save you the time of untangling your lights the following year. Save your empty wrapping paper and paper towel rolls throughout the holiday season for Christmas light clean up.

Things You'll Need:

• Christmas lights
• Scissors
• Tape
• Empty wrapping paper rolls

1. Cut the wrapping paper rolls into two or three sections depending on the length of the roll. Pull the outlet end of the light strand through the wrapping paper roll and out the other end.

2. Begin to coil the Christmas lights around the wrapping paper roll, continue coiling until you have wound it in its entirety.

3. Plug the other end of the lights into the outlet. This will help to keep the lights secure.

4. If you have any extra bulbs, place them in a small bag and secure the end. Tuck and tape the extra lights inside the wrapping paper roll for safe keeping.

Tips & Warnings

• To further organize your Christmas lights, using a bright marker, label each wrapping paper roll with "Indoor" for indoor use or "Outdoor" for outdoor use.
• You can also use empty toilet paper rolls to coil up miniature lights.
• Don't use Christmas lights in locations not specified on the box.
• Turn all Christmas lights off before leaving the house or going to bed.
