The high flash is a flamboyant juggling trick that you can do with any number of objects. Although skilled jugglers can perform a flash with four, five and even more balls, it's easiest to learn if you're only juggling three. Here's how to perform the high flash during the three ball cascade.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Begin juggling three balls using the cascade technique. Toss the balls at whatever height's the most comfortable for you, although the flash looks best when it begins from a medium to low height.
Step2
Throw one ball high into the air using your dominant hand. Generally, you should throw the ball as high as you can, as long as it doesn't hit your ceiling and you can catch it on the way down.
Step3
Toss the second and third balls into the air immediately after throwing the first. As a guide, try to release the second ball as soon as the first reaches what would normally be the highest point in its arc.
Step4
Make sure your hands are completely empty as the balls arc through the air. The main goal of the high flash is to put all the balls into the air without having any of them in your hands.
Step5
Catch the balls as you would during a normal cascade pattern. Since you tossed them quickly, you'll also need to catch them quickly, so expect them to come down fast.

Tips & Warnings

  • Add different tricks to the flash once you've got the basic technique down. Be creative and take advantage of having empty hands to do entertaining moves.
