Heroscape is a physically based role playing game (RPG) with a fantasy perspective. It is also known as a fantasy based board game by Hasbro/Milton Bradley, which premiered at the 2004 toy fair. It's important to grasp fully the playing methods in the basic game of Heroscape before branching into the more complicated advanced levels.

Instructions
  1. Step 1

Understand the premise of Heroscape. It is a fantasy-based board game with role playing aspects. There are terrain pieces which offer endless possibilities and characters portraying warriors from many different eras. The game is based on units, which are combinations of characters, and each unit has cards which control its movements and combat strength.

  2. Step 2

Know the object of the game or how you know you won. There are different scenarios in the rulebook. Which scenario you use depends on the set up you are using and the characters involved. The goal of the scenario may be to get rid of all your opponents, protect certain characters or establish other ideas in the game.

  3. Step 3

Decide on the unit and scenario you want to use, then follow the rulebook to understand how to proceed. This will include the combat dice and other moves. The basic games are all formatted for two people. This allows you to get familiar with the game before adding other opponents to the mix.

  4. Step 4

Play the game and watch the outcome unfold. Once you have played a couple of times, you should be familiar enough with the moves, characters and units where you will not have to depend on the rule book for all your information. You'll then be ready to explore more complicated playing techniques.
