Step 1
Look at the edges of the hexagonal land pieces. There are alternating high and low spots along the edges of all the pieces. The pieces are designed to snap together; the high spot on one piece corresponds to the low spot on another piece.
-
Step 2
Hold one land piece against a flat surface, like a table, and slide a second piece into place from above. The two pieces should connect easily, but due to slight inconsistencies in the pieces, some may fit together more easily than others.
-
Step 3
Build high spots in the terrain by placing land tiles on top of areas you've already assembled. The tiles won't snap together when you build up the terrain, but the raised and colored hexagonal area will provide purchase for a tile on top of it and keep it from sliding.
-
Step 4
Place special areas if required. Some special items, like the warehouse in the Marvel Set or the hive in the Marro Set, have special tiles that they snap into and should be placed after you've built the terrain.
-
Step 5
Complete your play area by placing other obstacles and features, such as trees and rocks.
