We've all been there; your bladder feels like it's going to explode but you can't stop what you're doing, don't want to stop what you're doing or you can't find a bathroom. Luckily there are some things you can do to survive when you're desperate for a bathroom.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Think about something else. Focus your attention on the speaker you're seeing, the movie you're watching or the road itself to get your attention off of how desperate you are for a bathroom.
Step2
Cross your legs. This old-fashioned solution is old fashioned for a reason. It works.
Step3
Look at your day and what you're going to be doing. There's a reason truckers use portable toilets and catheters. They know how hard it can be to find a clean restroom off the freeway that doesn't add a great of time onto your trip.
Step4
Decide not to have one more cup of coffee. If you know there's a work presentation you have to attend, one that you really shouldn't stand up in the middle of for a bathroom break, limit your fluids before the presentation. When driving, avoid drinking the big cup of coffee or soda and choose the smaller one.
Step5
See your care provider. If you're desperate to urinate, but can't, have difficulty urinating or experience a constant need to urinate right after you've urinated, you may have a medical condition. Relief may be as easy as a prescription.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to avoid urinating in public in empty water bottles or such. It's unsanitary.
