Being a tomboy isn't the end of the world, but there comes a time in every girl's life where her eyes start turning to the opposite sex and she wonders whether she should try to be a bit more girly. If you want to stop being a tomboy, there are a few things you can do to change the way people perceive you.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Pay a little more attention to your appearance. You don't need to go all out and have manicures and pedicures every week, but it never hurts to spend a little more time thinking about how you look to other people. Always wear clean clothes that fit properly, and wash and dry your hair every day. Deodorant and a little makeup make you presentable, no matter what the occasion.

  2. Step 2

Go where the girls are. Instead of spending all your free time on the soccer field, find other girls to hang out with and do what they do. Go shopping at the mall, or spend the afternoon gossiping and doing each other's hair. While it may seem boring at first, you may grow to love it.

  3. Step 3

Dress outside your comfort zone. One of the easiest ways to stop being a tomboy is to start dressing like a girl. Trade in those jeans for a skirt every so often. Wear your hair down whenever possible, and try some pretty shoes to complete the outfit.

  4. Step 4

Act the part. If you want to look more girly, you need to stop the rough-and-tumble activities that get you dirty and bruised up. It's OK to like sports, but if you play football with the guys before school and spend the rest of the day with grass stains on your jeans, you will look like a tomboy.

First of all, this article is mis-named. It just talks about hygiene, so it should be called, "How to stop being a slob."
Second of all, "slob" is not part of the definition of "tomboy."
Tomboy: a girl who behaves, dresses, or plays like an active boy; hoyden.
Hoyden: a bold, boisterous girl; tomboy.
Neither one of these says anything about being a slob; and many boys who want to actually attract a girlfriend(whether tomboy or otherwise)will shower and brush thier hair and wear nice clean clothes.
AND, there are certain types of hair and scalps that are not compatable with daily hair-washing--this makes them neither a slob nor a tomboy.
Also, many American girls who are "girly" live in jeans. As for properly fitting clothes, the average casualwear for girls in Philadelphia consists of: too-tight, low-rise jeans that the girl's thong hangs out the top of--the
