Step 1
Be yourself. It's tempting to try and dress or act like someone else as a teen girl to get attention, but whenever you try to imitate someone else you always end up second. No one can do you better than you. Besides, people can tell when you're being fake.
-
Step 2
Get involved in sports or school activities. Sports are a great way to meet people and make new friends. They also help you stay in shape and learn new skills. Discipline is something else you learn in sport, which makes you a good leader and liked by other teen girls.
-
Step 3
Act confident. With pimples and changes in your body it's easy to begin to feel insecure at times, but no matter what, keep your head high and let it be known you love who you are. Don't be arrogant because no one likes a snob, but if people make fun of you, use your humor to turn the joke back on them. If you're sure of who you are and what you believe, the other girls will want to be like you.
-
Step 4
Remember not to let pressure to lose your virginity force you into being sexually active--the risks aren't worth it. Nothing will cramp your style more than changing diapers and a screaming baby to take care of. Not to mention, the guy will probably leave you once you get pregnant. Something else to think about--one out of every four teen girls has an STD, which means you could end up with an STD for life.
-
Step 5
Keep up your grades. With teen pressure to dress cute, get attention from boys and be popular, it's easy to forget why you're in school in the first place--to get an education. By studying hard and getting good grades, you're making your life much easier when it comes time for college. And good grades mean more opportunities for scholarships, which means more cash in your pockets to spend on your fabulous wardrobe.
-
Step 6
Listen to your parents. You're growing up and are going to be an adult soon, so it's frustrating having to listen to someone else's rules, but guess what--they pay the bills and it's their house. Sometimes it may seem like they're too strict and their rules are dumb, but they've been in your shoes before and they're just trying to keep you from making the same mistakes. So remember they love you, give them respect and you may just find out that your parents aren't so bad after all.
