How to Sign Up for a Horse Show

If you believe your horse is show quality than you may want her to compete. For the most part all that is required is to sign up for it. There are a couple of things to remember to save yourself confusion, especially as the event gets closer. Follow these steps to sign up for a horse show.

1. Call the agency that is putting on the horse show. The people who work at the horse show arena will not be able to sign you up. They are just providing the arena and usually don't work for the agency that is hosting the show.
2. Ask for a registration form to enter your horse in the show. Fill it out completely with yours and the horse's information. Select the competitions in which you would like your horse to participate. Check out the Horse Show Central website to search for horse shows by breed and discipline classes and get dates and locations.
3. Arrange for a stable for your horse at the show. Inform the agency of the amount of stalls you need and how long you will need them. Bring your horses bedding material or rent some from the agency. You are responsible for feeding and cleaning up after your horse.
4. Submit your deposit with your registration form. Retain the schedule and description of the events for your own reference. You will need it to keep track of dates and times.
5. Register with the horse show office on the day of the event. They will give you a number and location.
