Both the Nintendo DS and Nintendo Wii systems are Internet compatible. Your Nintendo does all of the work for you. All you have to do is click a few buttons. Since Wi-Fi is already built into the hard drive of both systems, it is a fairly simple process.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • High-speed Internet connection
  • Wireless router

Use AirStation One-Touch Secure System (AOSS) With Your Nintendo DS

  1. Step 1

Select the "Nintendo Wi-Fi connections setup" screen on your Nintendo DS, which is first displayed on your browser screen when you turn on your system. A status bar displays on your screen showing that it's connecting, which takes you to the "Nintendo Wi-Fi Connection Set Up".

  2. Step 2

Tap one of the connection slots that shows "None" on your browser. Another status bar shows your progress to the next page.

  3. Step 3

Choose the "AOSS" option, which takes you to the "Wireless Access Point" page. Click the "AOSS" button until the AOSS lamp blinks, directing you to the "Connection Test Screen." Press the "OK" button to start the connection test, which then sends a confirmation if the test is successful or not.

  4. Connect to the Internet With Your Nintendo DS Using Search for an Access Point

  5. Step 1

Complete Steps 1 and 2 from Section 1.

  6. Step 2

Press the "Search for an Access Point' box. The next screen lists a number of wireless tabs to choose.

  7. Step 3

Click the unlocked blue padlock icon, automatically establishing a connection with your router. If a red padlock is present, then a Wired Encryption Protocol (WEP) is present on your router. You then need to enter the WEP access key to establish a connection.

  8. Step 4

Hit "OK" for the system to connect with your router.

  9. Use Your Nintendo Wii

  10. Step 1

Click on the "Wii" button in the lower left hand corner that's first displayed on your Nintendo Wii browser when you turn on your system. The next screen displays two options:
a "Data Management" button and a "Wii Settings" button. Select "Wii settings."

  11. Step 2

Tap one of the connection slots that shows "None" on your browser. Another status bar shows your progress to the next page.

  12. Step 3

Press the blue arrow on the right of the screen and scroll down to the Internet tab. Click this tab.

  13. Step 4

Choose "Connections settings" and then select the connection tab that is labeled "None."

  14. Step 5

    Touch the "Wireless Connection" button.

  15. Step 6

Pick the "Search for an Access Point" button from the list. Once the display bar shows completion, you are then directed to a screen of access point options.

  16. Step 7

Select the open padlock tab, which connects you to the Internet directly. If a closed padlock is displayed, then you need to enter a security code or pass phrase. After it's finished connecting press "OK" to save these settings and then press "OK" again to start a connection test.

Tips & Warnings
  • If you're using AirStation One-Touch Secure System (AOSS), you need an AOSS compatible router. Check your router to see if it has an "AOSS" button.
