  • Microwave safe bowl
  • Decorative dispenser
  • 1/2 tbsp. shea butter
  • 1/4 cup aloe vera
  • 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum
  • 25 to 30 drops of desired essential oil
  • Flower petals or herbs (optional)
  • Almond oil (optional)

Step1
Choose a base for your body wash. One base material is unscented shampoo.
Step2
Create moisturizing effects for dry skin by using shea butter and aloe vera. Add 1/2 tbsp. of shea butter to 1/4 cup of aloe vera gel in a microwave sage bowl. Then heat these ingredients in the microwave for 1 minute, stirring every 15 seconds.
Step3
Stir in 1/2 tsp. xanthan gum for each cup of body wash if you want to create a thicker product.
Step4
Add a skin-safe essential oil to your body wash. Mix 25 to 30 drops of essential oil to the base. Choose oils for various effects such as lavender for relaxation or peppermint to revitalize. You can make a body wash for any mood.
Step5
Use flower petals or herbs for extra fragrance if you desire. Steep your choice in 1/4 cup of water for 15 to 30 minutes and strain the liquid. Stir the liquid in the thickener, if you're using it, and mix with 3/4 of the base for added aromatherapy.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you have extra dry skin, add up to 30 drops of almond oil to your body wash.
