1
Choose fabrics that are wide enough to make the laptop sleeve. If you use material less than 45 inches wide, you may need slightly more than ½ yard. Use one piece of fabric that can provide cushioning to the laptop while it's in the reversible sleeve.
-
2
Measure the width of your laptop plus three inches. Make that the short side of your fabric piece. Multiply the height of your laptop times two. Add six inches.

-
3
Put the two pieces of fabric together. Cut them out using your measurements.
-
4
Decorate the laptop sleeve with trim or buttons. If you don't want decorations, you can skip this step.
-
5
Pin the short ends of the fabric right side together. Stitch them with the sewing machine using a ½- inch seam.
-
6
Lay the fabric on a flat surface. Move the short end far enough from one end to make one side of a pocket for the laptop. In other words, make it the width of your laptop. Sew it in place with a ½-inch seam.
-
7
Repeat Step 6 except leave a three-inch space near the fold. Reach your hand into this gap and pull the fabric right side out. Work all the corners and edges out so the laptop sleeve lays flat. Sew the remaining seam by hand with a needle and thread.
