Post questions on these online forums and wait for other people to respond with their suggestions and comments.
4. Consult a mechanic in training. Many local community colleges and vocational high schools have auto mechanic classes. Call the instructor and ask if they have any suggestions or would like to use your car's problem as a project to fix. This can be a real win-win situation - you get less expensive or free work done and the students have a real-life situation to learn in.
