Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Step1
Speak to your boyfriend about his temper. Tell him it scares you and you're afraid he'll go overboard and seriously hurt someone.
Step2
Walk away when he fights. Show him that you refuse to support his violence, that you don't approve and you will not stay.
Step3
Talk to his best friend. Tell him how you feel and ask him to help you. Mention all the good things you like about the boy and how the violence is changing your opinion.
Step4
Tell a trusted adult. Ask for advice or ask the adult to speak to the boy. Talk to a counselor if you feel anyone's in danger.
Step5
Convince your boyfriend that fighting is senseless. Present a good argument against fighting and back up your argument up with facts. Ask the guy to explain why he fights and be ready to refute any arguments he has in favor of fighting. Suggest he gets help or counselling for his temper if he can't stop on his own.
Step6
Point out the differences between fighting and defending yourself. Fighting is attacking someone and defending is keeping yourself safe.
Step7
Encourage him to learn a martial art. He will learn when to fight and how to control his impulses. Help him turn his anger into something positive.
