Improve an old style pen gun by adding a trigger to shoot even further than before. The pen gun with a trigger is a novelty item not meant to be used as a weapon or inflict harm on people or animals. Have fun with creative use of pens and pencils, but use with caution.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Pen with cap
  • Two mechanical pencils
  • Knife
  • Drill
  • Four rubber bands

Step1
Disassemble a capped pen and two mechanical pencils. Set aside the pen's outer tube and cap as well as the inner tubular sticks from the mechanical pencils. Discard the other pieces.
Step2
Using a knife, cut the clip part and the top of the pen cap off.
Step3
Drill a hole into one side of the pen cap close to where the clip was so that its large enough for the outer pen tube to fit through. Make two more smaller holes slightly off center into one side of the pen's outer tube approximately ½ inch apart from each other.
Step4
Cut one of the mechanical pencil's inner tubes leaving the eraser end on just slightly longer than the pen cap. Wrap one rubber band around each of the mechanical pencils' inner tubes just below the eraser.
Step5
Assemble the by sliding the pen tube half way through the hole in the cap. Place the short mechanical pencil inner tub in the pen cap, eraser end up and the long inner tube in the pen tube, eraser end at the back.
Step6
Create resistance with a cut rubber band from the front end of the pen tube to the top back side of the pen cap. Secure another cut rubber band from the bottom front side of the pen cap to the top back side of the cap.
Step7
Shoot cautiously by pulling back on the pen cap or the trigger to release the rubber bands' resistance on the pen tub or the ammunition.

Tips & Warnings

  • Don't shoot at people or small animals. This pen gun can generate enough force to cause harm, use extreme caution.
