How to Make a Paper Knife
Use origami methods to create a paper knife. This knife isn't meant to be a weapon, but instead a paper craft to display as part of a decorative fiber art collection. When the knife is complete, it can be painted to strengthen it for longevity or for decoration.

1
Crease and unfold a square piece of paper in half. Fold the paper both from the right and left edges to the center crease line to look like double doors.
-
2
Halve the paper horizontally with one fold of the double doors is inside of the crease. Position the paper with the crease at the top. Open the edge at the bottom.
-
-
3
Bend both the top right and left corners in towards the center crease line to make to triangles. Make the shape of a traditional paper airplane to create crease lines and then unfold.
-
4
Take the left wing of the airplane and fold in on the crease line. Bring the bottom right corner of the paper up at an angle to meet the edge of the left airplane wing. Unfold and repeat as a mirror image.
-
5
Unfold the bottom corners and bring them both up at an angle to the center crease line. Flip out the inner edges of those two new fold to create two smaller triangles and unfold. Overlap the two bottom flaps.
-
6
Repeat the same folds to make a second identical diamond shape. Link both papers together on the folded sides. Face the smooth side of the paper out.
-
7
Tape the two papers together leaving the shorter point of the diamond open.
-
8
Slide an unsharpened pencil through the open point into the middle of both papers. Wrap tape around the opening and the pencil to keep in place.
