With so many gadgets and wires it can seem overwhelming to try and connect your DVD player, VCR and digital cable box together. Verify that you have all of the necessary cables before you begin. Place your electronics in the desired position on your entertainment center and begin plugging everything in.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • DVD player
  • VCR
  • Digital cable box
  • TV
  • RF modulator
  • Coax cables
  • Composite cables
Step1
Locate the coax cable at the cable outlet. Plug the coax cable into cable box in the "video, cable or antenna in" plug.
Step2
Plug the cable box into the VCR. Connect the coax cable from the "out" plug on the cable box to the "in" plug on the VCR. Coordinate color plugs with color outlets when you use a composite cable.
Step3
Insert a coax cable into the "video out" slot on the VCR. Connect the coax cable to an "in" port on the RF modulator box.
Step4
Insert a composite cable into the RF modulator, coordinating the red, yellow and white plugs with the same color of port. Connect this cable to the DVD player, coordinating the "video out" ports and plugs.
Step5
Use the last coax cable to connect the RF modulator box to the TV. Put the coax cable in the "video out" port on the RF modulator and in the "video, antenna or cable in" port on the television.
Step6
Program your remote control, turn on the television set and test the DVD player, VCR and digital cable box to make certain your system is set up properly.
