How to Primoslide and Railslide on a Skateboard

Slide across the ground while you stand on the side (or rail) of your skateboard to perform a primoslide. This is also known as a railside slide because the board is sliding across the ground. You may think it got its name because it is a "primo," but the name actually comes from skateboarder Primo Desidrio who invented it.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Step1
Learn to do a railstand. Stand on the rail of the board. Place your forward foot above the forward trucks (wheels). Use the toes of your rear foot to give a slight push from the heelside (the side of the board closest to your heels). Jump and land on the side of the board.
Step2
Wax the ground or sidewalk with curb wax to get the pavement nice and slick. Make sure you use an area of ground that is flat.
Step3
Keep your pace slow and controlled. When you hit the waxed ground you don't want to be going too fast.
Step4
Push down on the heelside of your board to go up into the primostand. Let the skateboard slide across the waxed ground while you are standing on the railstand. This can also be done on the toeside rail if that primo position is more comfortable for you.
Step5
Lean forward slightly when you feel the board starting to slow or you start losing your balance. Keep your body loose and relaxed.
Step6
Nudge the board back down and land with your feet over the bolts of the trucks. You can also do this trick in starting out from a kickflip or other flip trick.
