Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Start Adobe Photoshop CS3 and open an existing document from your files or create a new blank document.
Step2
Choose the "Brush" tool from the Photoshop toolbox on the left side of the screen. The "Brush" tool shares a button with the "Pencil" and "Color Replacement" tools, so you may need to switch tools if the "Brush" tool isn't visible. The properties for the "Brush" tool will be displayed at the top of the Photoshop screen on the Options bar, which is located just below the Menu bar.
Step3
Use the settings on the Option bar to create a custom brush. You can set the brush size, mode, opacity and flow by using the drop-down boxes and list on the Option bar.
Step4
Click the arrow just to the right of the brush preset selection you are using. Click the arrow in the circle on the top right side of the drop-down box that appears. From the shortcut menu that appears, choose "New Brush Preset." The "Brush Name" dialog box will open.
Step5
Type a name for the new brush you have created and wish to save as a brush preset in the "Name" text box of the "Brush Name" dialog box.
Step6
Click the "OK" button to close the "Brush Name" dialog box and return to your Photoshop document. You can now choose the brush you have saved as a preset from the brush preset drop-down box.
