1
Find a level spot to start. Put your dominant foot on the front section of the wave board. Try to place your foot as securely in the middle of the panel as you can for the safest ride.
-
2
Gently push off with your other foot. Quickly place it in the middle of the back section. Try to get your balance. If you don't achieve balance, step off the wave board and try it again.

Set the wave board on its side tilted away from you. Put your feet into position. Tilt the wave board back into an upright position and begin to ride it. Sometimes this mounting technique is easier for beginners.

4
Propel the wave board forward once you have your balance. Twist the back and front panels back and forth to move the wave board forward. Keep your knees slightly bent. Your forward motion looks like repeating a S-shape pattern.

5
Turn the wave board by twisting the front panel in the direction you wish to travel. Learn how to make turns safely. Learn just how much to twist the wave board for each degree of turning radius. You can make a really tight turn by twisting the back panel in the opposite direction.

Get off the wave board by slowing as much as possible. When it slows and begins to tip, step off the wave board.
