Step 1
Establish a LAN connection between the PCs. This is, often, the most difficult part of configuring a Halo PC LAN game (see Resources).

Update Halo to the latest version on each PC by going to the Microsoft Games website.

Install the most recent version of DirectX on each of the PCs. Download this from the Microsoft DirectX website.

Establish a multiplayer game from the matchmaking menu on one of the PCs.

Select your game options. Choose your map, and whether you will use teams.

Provide the other players with the name you gave to the game. They then select the game from the game lobby screen.

Start the game once all players appear in the game you created.
