How to Make An All-Natural Vegetable Wash
Germs are lurking in our food. Even if you buy or grow organic fruits and vegetables, there can still be residue from pesticides and insects. Commercial vegetable wash may have chemicals or ingredients you are not comfortable using on your produce. Learning how to make an all-natural vegetable wash is both budget and ecologically friendly. Things You'll Need
- 1 cup water
- 1 tablespoon baking soda
- 1 cup white vinegar
- Bowls
- Spoons
- Grapefruit seed extract
- Spray bottles
- Lemon Juice
- Water

Vegetable Wash

Use a large spoon to mix 1 cup water, 1 tablespoon baking soda and 1 cup white vinegar in a large bowl.

Put 20 drops of grapefruit seed extract into the mixture and stir.

Pour the produce wash into a large spray bottle. Vigorously shake the bottle before using.
Alternate Produce Wash

Combine 1 part lemon juice with 2 parts cold water in a large bowl. It's easiest to use bottled lemon juice.

Stir the water and lemon juice with a large spoon.

Put the mixture into a large spray bottle. Shake it prior to use.

Tips & Warnings
Let vegetable wash sit on vegetables for five minutes and rinse with water.
Do not use homemade vegetable wash on mushrooms.
