How to make a homemade slip and slide

How to make a homemade slip and slide thumbnail
A little trashy but a lot of fun!!

I can't wait to try this one myself...ok, have my kids try this one themselves! Here is a fun, simple (yes, a bit trashy perhaps), way to provide hours of enjoyment for your kids this summer and so cheap! Who cares what the neighbors are thinking, you know they probably want to join in the fun!

Things You'll Need

  • Plastic table coverings (probably 2-4)- can be found at the dollar store
  • baby shampoo (you can also use dishsoap but it could get in kids eyes
  • a hose
  • some duct tape
  • a good sense of humor!

Instructions

    • 1

First, decide how long you want your slippy slide to be. You can roll out the table coverings and tape as many as you would like together (depending on if any ADULTS may be using this!)

    • 2

Next, put your "slide" on a grassy area. *Note:make sure there are not rocks, sticks or sharp objects underneath as this would hurt a lot when sliding!

    • 3

Now, add a bunch of baby shampoo

    • 4

Get the slide plenty wet and keep the hose going on the slide

    • 5

      HAVE FUN!!

Tips & Warnings

  • You can use dish soap however, it could get in kids eyes and then you will have 30 wet kids running in your house bawling because their eyes are stinging from soap, that would not be good. So, you might want to opt for the tear free shampoo.

  • obviously, use caution when allowing small children to use your "slide" (even though you know the adults will probably be hogging it the whole time!)

The table coverings should be the non-textured variety. It would probably work best if you overlap the table coverings all the same way and place it tape-side down. Also, as a word of warning, if your grass is rather thin you could end up with a muddy mess at the end of your slide. Ask me how I know...
