When your knead up fondant to cover a cake, if you use it out of the package, you may find out it is too stiff. Don't break your fingers! Follow this steps to make it pliable.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Fondant
  • Shortening
  • Table
Step1
Clean and sanitize your hands and table.
Step2
Take fondant out of the package and add a dab of shortening.
Step3
Use the heel of your hands to work the fondant so you don't hurt your fingers.
Step4
Do this until pliable or add some more shortening if needed. If you add too much shortening, the fondant will tear easily when you roll it out.
