Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Step1
Germinating the seeds the old fashion way or the way I like to do it, is place the seed on a damp paper towel. Place the paper towel inside a ziplock bag. Then place the bag on top of the dryer. This has a green house effect with constant moisture. Once they start sprouting you can plant them inside in a pot for a stronger healthier plant or outside in a garden with 1/8" soil over them.
Step2
Moss Rose seeds can be directly seeded into your flower garden also but wait until the last frost. The more convenient way is to buy a germinating matt which you place over the seeds until they start growth at which time you take the matt off. They will start growing down when you remove the matt.
Step3
Seeds germination period, requires one to two weeks.
Step4
Moss Roses only grow four to six inches tall so they are great in the front of a flower bed or just in a pot. They do not require good soil they prefer average to poor soil. Ideal plant spacing is ten inches apart. Plant in full sun.
Step5
Use general purpose, high nitrogen fertilizer when first planting, to help them to get a good start. Add a high Phosphorous fertilizer just before blooming. Your local hardware store will be able to direct on the fertilizer.
