As the temperatures begin to rise the threat of mosquito bites becomes more of a concern. For those of us with young children or small household pets mosquito can become a very serious environmental health concern. For years there has been a strong market for mosquito repellents and mosquito repelling installations. While these products do repel mosquitoes, they are often created using pesticide or "pesticide like" chemicals. Such chemicals have been known to cause serious health concerns when in contact with human beings or animals, especially in the case of infants or the elderly. Additionally, conventional mosquito repellents are often packaged in aerosol containers which spray a fine mist of repellent onto both the skin and into the air surrounding the site of application. These concerns, while minor, are entirely avoidable. More and more individuals have been turning to organic or all natural products as a means of avoiding potentially hazardous chemicals. In truth, the following mosquito repellent recipe cannot be classified as organically sound, however it does maintain a truly natural standard.
