When purchasing a car select a light colored car with tinted glass. It will stay cooler in hot weather.

Use radial tires, which improve fuel economy. For long distance driving, inflate them three or four pound above the recommended pressure, this can save you up to ten percent on gas. Although do not go above you maximum pressure allowed in your tire, due to loss in traction.
