For most people, exercising is not fun. It's a chore, an obligation that we feel we need to meet. But here's some good news- exercise can be fun! Follow these simple steps to make your exercise routine more enjoyable.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • An exercise plan
  • An ipod
  • A friend

Step1
Set time aside to exercise- make sure to vary your routine so it doesn't become boring. Find different times to go, and different activities to do. For instance, play a game of volleyball one day, and go to the gym the next. Sticking to the same routine every time will bore you, and make exercise seem more like a chore.
Step2
Find an activity to do while you exercise. For instance, bring a book or a magazine if you are going to the gym. Also, good tunage helps- bring your ipod or a cd player and find some songs that help you get in the mood. It's good to find songs that match your running rate; finding a beat that matches your pace can help pump you up. Finally, television and movies are a good diversion as well; many ipods have the capacity to hold videos and tv shows. Download something your interested in and use it as a treat to get you motivated to start working out.
Step3
Find a buddy that will keep you not only occupied, but on your exercise plan as well. Friends are a great way to make exercising fun; not only can they provide someone to talk too, but they can also help provide a bit of a competitive atmosphere (which is always fun!).
